Well Ok then. Her property is currently worth about $65,000!! She was a nice lady but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get her to understand that she wasn't in a position to sell unless she could bring about $175,000 to closing. Or she could attempt a Florida Short Sale. She had no money and didn't want to consider a "Quick sale". I explained that there was really nothing I could do for her.
She went on to tell me how she needed her equity and that I didn't really know for sure that she couldn't get $240,000 for the house unless we tried. She told me "I'd like to place it on the market at $250,000. There may be someone from out of the State that would buy it at this price".
I politely declined.
Are you as surprised as I was that there are still folks out there that are this far away from reality? Total denial. And I wonder if she will find an agent to list the property at 3 times what it's worth?
This conversation left me scratching my head!!
